๐ฅ Scoops & Measurement Devices
Please note that we do not provide scoops with orders that include powder products. Powders have varying densities thus rendering scoops as inaccurate measuring devices. Scoops measure volume rather than weight, which is problematic because all powders have different densities. This concept is illustrated very well in this image:
As you can see, the 10 mg scoop is only a 10 mg scoop for NAC and it is actually only a 3 mg scoop for Melatonin powder. This also doesn't take into account the fact that the density of the same compound can vary a lot from batch to batch depending on its milling size. As an experiment, scoop up some granulated sugar with a scoop or a teaspoon and then crush it till it is a fine powder. Now try to fit the finely powdered sugar back into that scoop or teaspoon and you will find that it no longer fits. This is because the granulated sugar has become significantly less dense, so a similar weight takes up a much larger volume. This same concept makes it very hard to accurately measure out powders without a scale.
We always recommend powders be measured using a reliable milligram scale. Nootropics Depot offers its own milligram scale which you may consider below:
